This article provides a general overview of the Customer Segments section on Shopify. More detailed information can be found here.
On the Customers -> Segments page, users can see a list of all pre-built segments.
Create Segment
Users can create new segments to filter customers based on their business needs. Once a segment is created and saved, the segment will auto-update to maintain a list of customers who meet segment filters.
Statistics
- User can see the current number of customers that match with their filter, this number is also expressed as a percentage of the total customers.
- This data updates in real-time as the user updates the segments filters.
- For example, in the image below the number of customers with their last order date which occurred 30 or more days ago, is 69 and this represents about 21% of the total customers.
- This data updates in real-time as the user updates the segments filters.
Segment Name
- When a user creates a segment, the segment is assigned the default name "New segment".
- The user will be prompted to input a segment name after they have updated the filter and selected "Save segment"
